A foot stomping romp across the skies to a bar in Old Montreal for New Year’s Eve, a bargain with the devil, and four women voyageuses who want to get out of their cabin in the cold to have some fun, find love, and get a drink. Singing, dancing and playing of fiddles. All of these combine to make for a lot of fun at the theatre.
The book was adapted by Tyrone Savage, who also directed and stars in it, playing the Devil known as Damien. He hits just the right notes of cynical fun and not really evil.
The four women, played by Tess Benger, Kat Lewin, Nicole Power and Shaina Silver-Baird are friends and rivals, but ultimately stick together. The four contrast and compliment each other nicely.
Hunter Cardinal was fun as Uriel, the Devil’s angel brother and Ghazal Azarbad was a terrific Lucy Ferr, the Devils girlfriend and minion.
This is definitely worth seeing if you are looking for a good time.
