Based on a story by Dostoevsky, this comedy is double in more ways than one. The narrator plays a double bass; he tells you what the character is going to do before the character does it, so you see everything twice; and eventually, the character finds himself with a real double.
It was funny, the acting was very good, even the music was good. But it was not good enough to watch everything twice. So we left at the intermission, without ever finding out how things work out. This is one play that should have cut the doubling, cut the time to 90 minutes and skipped the intermission.
