The Magistrate

Almost forgot to post this one – another lovely production from the National Theatre Live broadcasts.
John Lithgow starred in this delightful production of the play by Arthur Wing Pinero. No one can do soulful puppy better than Lithgow, and he demonstrates this most effectively as he comes to grips with the fact that neither he nor his wife are quite as upright as they have pretended to each other and to themselves. It’s a farce and it’s funny, with the right number of doors and window to keep the action going.
