Long Days Journey into Night

We saw the famous Stratford production done in 1994-1995 with William Hutt, Martha Henry, Petrr Donaldson and Tom McCamus, directed by Diana Leblanc, and remember it as a great evening.
this production also directed by Diana Leblanc had another very strong cast with Joe Ziegler, Nancy Palk, Evan Buliung and Gregory Prest. We even like Krystin Pellerin as the maid, Cathleen.
But O’Neill is no longer new to us, and the thought of staying for another hour of rage and destruction was just too much to bear. We left the Tyrone’s to get on with it alone.

One Response to Long Days Journey into Night

  1. Keith says:

I spent the first act on the edge of my seat, not because of the play but because my phone was vibrating and I was convinced our second grandson had arrived and we were being summonsed to look after his brother. At the intermission, I whipped my phone out, only to find the message was not about Damien's birth. And found myself disappointed at the idea of going back in for the second act.The acting was excellent, the writing is strong, but I just cannot take watching the characters destroy each other, and themselves. I'm over O'Neil.
